BYMBE project partners identified the lack of adequate guidance tools as a significant problem in supporting young NEET mothers in re-entering education.
Social workers, counsellors, teachers, youth trainers are often aware that their tools are not suitable to the diverse needs of this target group and therefore these tools need to be adapted. For them, we have developed the BYMBE Orientation Pack, an innovative approach, based on professional and personal guidance and counselling, to help young mothers to find their own way to education and profession.
Activities of the BYMBE have been piloted in all partner countries to date. Our strong relation with the target group provides us with a better understanding of the young mother’s training needs and has helped us to deliver an effective training methodology.
BYMBE Orientation Pack is based on the SymfoS methodology, an innovative counselling methodology based on a set of symbols which allow for an inclusive, creative and non-verbal career and school orientation. This methodology has a strong positive impact and it is very adaptable and enjoyable.
BYMBE Orientation Pack is now available on the BYMBE website in all partner countries languages, to help you develop your own local orientation and counselling activity. IO5 published and available for download
This IO focuses on the decision-making process regarding career and education and self-efficacy of individuals which change according to their self-esteem and future time perspective. Re-entering education can be a source of anxiety which requires special support, especially for disadvantaged target groups.
This leads young mothers to a happier; more satisfied and engaged education experience. With this in mind we have developed the BYMBE Empowerment Pack. The training activities of this handbook are aimed at helping young NEET mothers to understand and manage their feelings and behaviours, it also helps them interact successfully within different social contexts in order to improve their motivation and complete their educational path.
Activities of the BYMBE Empowerment Pack have been piloted and customised to cater to the special training needs of young mothers and to present professionals with an engaging training programme to support their work.
BYMBE Empowerment Pack is now available on the BYMBE website in all partner countries languages, to help you develop your own empowerment training. BYMBE Campaign
The Join BYMBE campaign is still on. This motivational and awareness-raising activity is aimed at raising people’s awareness about the difficulties young mothers face to stay in or re-enter education. It encourages young mothers to take a step towards basic and further education which helps ensure a better future for their families.
We urge all our stakeholders and ask every person who believes in the right to an education to lend their support to the campaign efforts. Project BYMBE has the potential to transform the lives of young mothers and their children. IO2 published and available for download

The success of any campaign relies heavily on targeting the right people. The Handbook outlines how we set out our communication towards young mothers and their influencers (social workers, teachers, trainers, families, friends) to prevent early school leaving and to promote return a to education. BYMBE is a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme – Key Action 2 – Strategic Partnerships for adult education [Agreement N° 2017-1-AT01-KA204-035007]
