Anti-racist sport festivals

In the last months of the project different activities have been conducted successfully.

One of the activities that should be mentioned is the Anti-racist sport festival developed and implemented in each partner country aiming to:

  • to develop the knowledge and skills of the coaches in how to create an anti-racist festival
  • to promote the concept of “SPORT for ALL”
  • to contribute to the development of the social inclusion of refugees, asylum seekers and disadvantaged youngsters
  • to promote a common sense against racism
  • to promote volunteering and social solidarity in Sport.

At the end of each festival, it has been developed a video collecting all the experiences from each partner!

MATCH Public Conference

Moreover, on the 7th of March a Public Event has been organized in order to disseminate all the project results and activities. The Public Event of the project has taken place in Athens and it has been characterized by two main moments:

  • a public conference attended by stakeholders expert in the field of sport, education and social inclusion.
  • A Football tournament and award ceremony: “MATCH final football tournament!”

The Conference has been a great occasion to talk about the project topic and impact reached in all the partner countries. Moreover, project results have been shared, giving importance to Pedagogical Manual.

Download here the Manual in each partner country’s language!

During the Conference it has been organized a Panel discussion based on "Diversity & Inclusivity: Creative Citizens of Europe”.

The Panel discussion has been conducted by different experts in the field such as:

  • Dr. Anastasios Maragiannis from the University of Greenwich.
  • Michalis Afolayan from "ANASA cultural center"
  • Aimilia Plati author of the children's book "The Fairy tale with fairy tales"
  • Giovanni Barbieri, project manager from the Migration Unit of CESIE
  • Jean-Didier Totow president of the Congolese community in Athens and vice-president of Greek Forum of Refugees

The second part of the Public Event has seen the participation of many people and football teams to the “MATCH final football tournament!”. During this event also a team “born” in the MATCH framework and activities has participated. The team shared the values of inclusion, education and friendship. We truly believe that this is a great result achieved by the entire consortium and all the people and volunteers who have given support!
